I'm Madeline O'Donoghue, a designer-artist creating handcrafted, analogue-inspired creative resources for designers, artists and brands.
Working from Aotearoa, New Zealand, I create expressive fonts, illustration libraries, textures and graphic assets that celebrate the imperfections of hand-drawn processes. My work draws from traditional printmaking, folk culture, peace, nature, music and the visual language of the past.
Alongside my collection of digital design goods, I create original drawings, paintings and ceramics, and sometimes collaborate on selected creative projects.

Paloma™ is a hand-painted display font inspired by loose brush strokes, artist signatures, sketchbook notes, and the quick expressive marks made at the end of a paintbrush.
Created from real painted letterforms, Paloma embraces imperfection. Uneven edges, organic movement, and painterly details give the font a natural, human quality that feels spontaneous rather than polished. It captures the feeling of signing a canvas, scribbling an idea in the margins, or making a confident mark with a loaded brush.

Paloma works best at smaller to medium sizes where the painterly texture and brush details can be appreciated. Due to its handcrafted nature, it is not recommended for extremely large-scale applications such as oversized signage or large-format banners where the brush texture may become exaggerated.

SEAFLOWER is a hand-drawn display font inspired by the quiet movement of sea flowers, drifting kelp forests, and the gentle rhythm of waves beneath the surface. Born as the softer sister to my much-loved BUNGALOW font, it takes everything people loved about its predecessor and softens the edges into flowing, rounded forms that feel calm, playful and organic.
Originally created for a craft beer label, SEAFLOWER grew from a custom piece of lettering into a complete typeface. Every character has been carefully drawn by hand with gentle curves and subtle imperfections, creating letters that feel as though they've been shaped by water rather than carved from wood.
Where BUNGALOW is bold, sun-faded and weathered by the coast, SEAFLOWER drifts a little deeper beneath the surface.
