pop hiss jazz blues
Bring the rhythm of jazz into your designs with The Cutouts — a hand-cut, all-caps display font that grooves like a Coltrane solo. Crafted entirely by hand with scissors, this font is steeped in the spirit of Matisse’s cut-outs, vintage jazz posters, and the tactile energy of DIY printmaking. Every letter carries raw edges, visual swing, and analogue warmth.
Each uppercase letter was hand-cut for an authentic, imperfect feel. For layering and contrast, the lowercase set offers a thinner, lighter version of the uppercase letters — not traditional lowercase, but a second “cut” of the same forms, giving your compositions a sense of improvisation and movement, like notes bending over a Blue Train riff.
Perfect for:
Jazz-inspired posters, flyers, and album art
Editorial layouts and art books
Creative branding with soul
Zines, printed matter, and DIY graphics
Collage, experimentation, and digital compositions
What’s included:
Uppercase A–Z hand-cut letters (with some alternates)
Thinner, lighter version of uppercase mapped to lowercase
.otf font file
Basic punctuation
Note: This is a decorative display font and may not include all punctuation or symbols.
Your purchase includes a Standard Font Licence for one user, covering unlimited personal and commercial finished projects.
Use your font for branding, logos, client work, packaging, posters, print, editorial, social media, advertising, music artwork, apparel, merchandise and products for sale.
