L’ARTE is a hand-crafted all-caps display typeface inspired by imperfect letter stamping, vintage editorial typography, 1960s cinema and the bold lettering found across old Italian film titles, art catalogues and exhibition graphics. Made from scratch by hand.
Tall, narrow and deliberately imperfect, L’ARTE takes classic condensed display lettering and loosens it up. Widths shift, curves wobble and proportions don’t always agree, giving the letters the feeling of something stamped, printed or assembled by hand rather than perfectly constructed on screen.
The result sits somewhere between an old film title and a forgotten exhibition catalogue — bold, graphic, editorial and slightly strange.
Numbers follow the same approach, designed for dates, editions and catalogue-style typography — 1966, NO.03, VOL.2.
L’ARTE takes inspiration from the atmosphere of mid-century European print and Italian cinema rather than reproducing any single historical typeface.

There is no production or sales limit on finished designs created using the font.
