DEVILS TOWN is a hand-crafted all-caps display typeface inspired by vintage horror film titles, old block type, ghost towns, haunted houses and strange hand-painted signs. Made from scratch by hand.
Imagine a forgotten town after dark — old signs hanging above empty storefronts, curtains moving in abandoned windows, a mansion somewhere on the hill and the wind howling through the streets. Devil’s Town takes the chunky familiarity of old display lettering and twists it into something a little more peculiar.
The letterforms are deliberately imperfect and full of small unsettling details. The T spreads like a pair of bat wings or a frayed curtain, while the S sits somewhere between dripping blood and a row of strange teeth. The counter of the A resembles a tiny candle flame or a curtain beginning to open, while the exaggerated O feels almost like an open mouth. Across the alphabet, pinched waists, bulbous ends and uneven curves can begin to resemble bones, joints and strange little limbs. Other letters wobble, sag and flare in unexpected places, allowing the forms to shift between playful and slightly sinister depending on how they’re used.
The result sits somewhere between a ghost town, an old mansion on the hill and the title sequence of a forgotten horror film — spooky without becoming a novelty font, and strange enough to work well beyond Halloween.
Designed with Halloween, horror and supernatural projects in mind, Devils Town also works beautifully for music artwork, posters, book covers, merchandise and eccentric vintage-inspired branding.

While Devils Town is perfect for Halloween and horror design, it was created as a broader vintage display face rather than a strictly seasonal Halloween font.
Print textures, photographs and styling shown in the preview images are not included.
