COWABUNGA is a hand-drawn bold display font inspired by the carefree spirit of 1970s surf culture, well-loved merchandise, and the chunky hand lettering found throughout posters and analogue print.
For years, this lettering style has become something of a Madeline O'Donoghue classic, appearing across many of my own artworks, apparel graphics, and prints. Most recognisably, it's the lettering style behind designs such as Teach Peace, evolving over years of drawing by hand into a bold, playful typeface full of warmth and personality.
Every character has been intentionally left slightly imperfect, capturing the feel of brush-painted signs, vintage surf shop graphics, and hand-pulled screen prints.
