Madeline’s illustrations take inspiration from 1970’s Los Angeles; with hand-drawn motifs, pops of colour, grains, motel signs, burger joints, skating and the Pacific Coast Highway. Her work also hints toward block prints, screen printing, relief printing, iconography and repeat pattern.

Her work often combines hand-drawn elements with digital elements to create works that feel like “back in the day”, nostalgic and warm. She often focuses on sparse, open space, deserts, signs, cacti and a chilled out, flower power vibe.

She often uses Riso & Block printing styles to design illustrations as well as putting pen to paper with felt tips and ink.

She has made drawings for:

GirlSwirl

Seea

Salt Gypsy

Sea Bones

Willow Byron Bay

Ojai Rancho Inn

Carrie Lynn’s Las Vegas

Coyote and Oak Magazine

Honey Magazine

and many personal works.
